Characters of Character is a small organization, we run on volunteers and passion to continue “MAKING A DIFFERENCE ONE CHILD AT A TIME” Using AmazonSmile is just one way you can help us to raise funds. The cost of printing, ink, paper is one small expense, we have no overhead as I work from home, I am doing the social media, the networking, the communications, the conferences, the exhibits etc. This gives me opportunity to reach out and meet people and places who may find an interest in our organization. The ultimate goal is to have a place to call ‘home’ where parents, families, schools and the community can come and do engaging activities with their children and teach them about these vital core values. This is done with literacy, art, drama and communication.
We have reached out to offer contests to society to learn about what they are in need of. Recently, a Chicago School Principal reached out and we donated some of our resources to her school. This is what she had to say:
“Oglesby Elementary is a school located in Chicago in a neighborhood located in Englewood-one of the top 10 most dangerous neighborhoods in the city. We were gifted with this wonderful resource that my Pre-K teachers have been using with our youngest scholars daily! Character education has not been taught in schools for many years but we thought this was an amazing way to bring it back but in a way that our kids could relate to and enjoy. They love the characters that go with each trait and remember the lessons long after they end! We plan to expand to our kindergarten classes next year!
This is what makes our donations worth while when you hear that you are MAKING A DIFFERENCE ONE CHILD AT A TIME. If you would like to read testimonials, visit our website below and also see the wonderful characters that kids have created.
What is the old cliché’, “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” – Benjamin Franklin, I feel these words are powerful and so very true to form.
