Giving Tuesday
Characters of Character is a registered 501(c)(3) in Tennessee and in Illinois, however, we share our resources nationally. We are pleased to say that we have impacted thousands of children, their family and communities around the globe with the tools to teach our children vital core values. While our world has changed, ones character should remain their strong foundation on which to build upon and grow with. To be able to provide this foundation for our children and youth is the reason we are here. After piloting our characters in an elementary school back in 2005, they earned a National Promising Practice Award which prompted me, Joni, the founder to form the organization in 2007. Since this time, we have published over thirty books, held dozens of classes, visited various libraries and communities in order to get the character messages out into the hearts of our children and youth. We have been thanked by parents and hugged by children.
Our organization has donated over one thousand of our Superhero Activity Boxes to children in the hospitals both in Tennessee and Illinois. We have donated our Confidence Building boxes and continue to do so with both of these activity boxes, especially after learning how much they are in need and appreciated. In 2023 we hope to double the amount of donations here in Tennessee to the Carell Monroe Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and also to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. Our goal is to donate 500 of Confidence Building activity boxes to PENCIL where educators, social workers and schools will use in their classrooms in the Nashville Metropolitan Schools. While our ultimate goal is to have a space to invite the communities in and engage in our character building activities, right now we are working tirelessly sharing these resources where they are very much needed.
On this Giving Tuesday, we hope you will consider Characters of Character as a charity to support. After all, we are building the platform for our future leaders of all our tomorrows. Our children. Let’s make a difference in the life of a child, together.
