Who Am I?

Who am I? I’ll share a few hints to see if you can guess just who I am and what I do to reinforce good character in you!

  • I use words like, “Please” and “Thank you”

  • I knock on doors before I enter the room

  • I cover my mouth when I cough or sneeze

  • I say “Excuse” me when I bump into anyone

  • I say “Sorry” when I need to apologize

  • I say “Hello” when I meet somebody

  • I say “Hello and Good-Bye” when I’m on the telephone

  • I hold open the door for the person behind me

Can you guess just who I am? I use my manners, I use polite words, too. I want to hear good manners from you! I want to see polite actions through you! I am Manners Monkey and it’s nice to meet you!

Share me with your children and students, too, it’s a simple way to reinforce this trait with you. “Remember, your kids are listening to the words you use, so it’s wise to choose wisely. Remember, your kids are watching everything that you do, it’s wise to choose wisely. For who you are is who your child probably wants to be, so choose polite words, just like ME!” Who Am I? Use this template to make a Manners Monkey headband as a visual reminder with your own children! I like to print these out on cardstock as it is just a bit sturdier than copy paper, or, you can trace or print it out on construction paper! You can print out a little booklet on copy paper here, just fold it, discuss the trait and let your children color it! Carry it with you wherever you may go to remind your children manners are important and need to be used, it’s how we can reinforce this trait at home or school!
