Your Character Matters

Your character matters, you are a role model for others. As for your children, you may not think they are listening to you or watching what you do, but, they are. As for friendships or coworkers, they also listen to what you say and how you react to various situations. Your character matters! Be a role model and make a difference.

These traits are ALL important to build a strong foundation upon in our lives. And, when you have a firm foundation you’re confident in your growth, your mindset, the opportunities that are placed before you, the way you react to a situation or to a conversation as well. When a child has a firm foundation, they are learning that the choices they make will either harm them or help the. By providing this, they will learn how to adapt to situations knowing that their choices that they make will either harm them or help them. Children who learn character traits, vital core values build better relationships at school and in the community. They are more responsible, caring and compassionate. Having this firm foundation also helps them learn how to cooperate with others which may build a lasting friendship, how to tolerate different opinions and still have respect for oneself and for others.

When a child practices these skills, it promotes their own character development, and they will build confidence and strength through out their lives. You may ask yourself; “how can I build character in my child?” We suggest that you read to and with your children as often as you can. Their siblings or other family members should do the same and also share stories and experiences that they have encountered.

A persons character is something that comes from within and is often carried on for their lifetime. With good character, you develop a winning personality, develop a foundation that attracts other people of the same outlook. Can you imagine if we all carried these traits out day in and day out? What a wonderful world this would be!
